General Information
The Argentine Fulbright
Program offers grants to U.S. citizens who want to
spend a period of time in Argentina under the auspices
of any of the grant programs detailed below.
The Argentine academic year runs from March to July
and from August to December. When applicable, grantees
are strongly encouraged to carry out the grants during
this period.
Applications are restricted to U.S. citizens.
Grants are awarded on a highly competitive basis,
with particular stress placed on academic and professional
excellence, leadership potential and willingness to
share ideas and experiences. One of the priorities
of the Fulbright Program is to offer awards to candidates
who have not had a Fulbright grant before.
Recruitment of U.S. candidates lies in the hands
of two independent U.S. institutions hired by the
U.S. Department of State for this purpose: the Council
for International Exchange of Scholars (CIES) and
the Institute of International Education (IIE), both
of which receive support from qualified juries during
the selection process. Grantees' final approval is
the responsibility of the J. William Fulbright Foreign
Scholarship Board, whose decisions are final.
