Purpose
To enable U.S. scholars and professionals to collaborate
with Argentine universities through lecturing and
research projects of mutual interest.
Specific Eligibility Criteria
In addition to the general selection criteria, applicants
are requested to submit a letter of invitation from an institution
of higher education in Argentina stating the names and the
contents of the courses they are expected to give during
their grant periods in Argentina.

A minimum of two and a maximum of three months.

Overview
Argentine universities may submit invitations for
short activities to U.S. lecturers listed on our webpage.
This list has the names of those U.S. lecturers that
have already received an award from the Fulbright
Program to lecture and do research at an Argentine
University. However, U.S. lecturers may accept invitations
from other Argentine institutions during their time
in Argentina.
Process
Inviting insititutions must fill out and submit the
requested online form. Fulbright staff will coordinate
communication between inviting institutions and Fulbright
Lecturers.
Funding
Inviting institutions must cost share the U.S. lecturer’s
visit by covering meals and housing when the program
schedule requires that the U.S. lecturer stays more
than one day in the host city.
Fulbright will cover travel expenses, subject to funds
availability.

Overview
Argentine universities may request a Senior Specialist from
the U.S. to collaborate in the development of a special
project by submitting a proposal to the Fulbright Commission.
Fulbright will give priority to projects benefiting
a large number of university students/professors, that
may demonstrate a lasting impact in the requesting institution
and/or communities affected by the project conducted
by the Fulbright Senior Specialist. The Fulbright Senior
Specialist Program will fund project requests focused
on but not limited to the following:
- curriculum and faculty development,
- institutional planning,
- seminar, workshop and conference participation,
- a variety of other classroom activities at the undergraduate
and graduate level,
- personal research is not funded via the Fulbright
- Senior Specialists Program (FSSP).
Requesting institutions
may
- Indicate the name of their preferred candidate
- provide a detailed description of the candidate
who would qualify for the assignment described in
the proposal
Program Administration
- A Fulbright Commission selection committee will
select those proposals that best fit the program goals
- Selected proposals will be forwarded to the FSSP
office for final approval
- After a project has received final approval, the
FSSP office will contact the preferred candidate indicated
by the requesting institution or suggest appropriate
candidates from its own roster. All candidates will
be subject to peer review by FSSP before being nominated
for a Senior Specialist Project at an overseas academic
institution.
Grant Period
A minimum of three and a maximum of six weeks. Projects
should be scheduled for a start date of October, 2008.

Funding
Fulbright will cover the Specialist’s stipend
and travel. The host institution will be responsible
for paying the Specialist’s housing, meals and
the domestic travel expenses involved in the project.
